The northernmost borough: suburban centres from Southgate and Palmers Green to Enfield Town, Edmonton’s long high streets, and the Lee Valley’s industrial estates. When we looked, nobody had written a serious page for it. This is ours.

Enfield is where London runs out. Wikipedia calls it "the northernmost borough", bordering "Hertfordshire to the north and Essex to the northeast", and names its main communities as "Edmonton, Enfield, Southgate and Palmers Green", with a population "estimated to be 333,794". Enfield Town itself "had a population of 156,858 in 2018", which makes it a market town the size of a city, with a pedestrianised centre, a market square and the Palace Gardens shopping centre. The borough divides into three. The west, from Southgate and Winchmore Hill up to Grange Park and Hadley Wood, is leafy, prosperous and served by the Piccadilly line. The centre is Enfield Town and Enfield Chase. The east, down the A10 and along the Lee Valley through Edmonton, Ponders End, Enfield Highway, Enfield Lock and Brimsdown, is denser, busier and home to the borough’s industrial estates.
We deliver the work from our office at Tower 42, 25 Old Broad Street, in the City (EC2N 1HN), by appointment. We do not have an Enfield office, an Enfield phone number or a separate Enfield team, and we say so rather than imply otherwise. The people named on this site visit clients across London; the Overground from Enfield Town and Edmonton Green runs to Liverpool Street, a few minutes’ walk from Tower 42, and we make the journey the other way, so the first meeting can be at your premises in Enfield, by video or at Tower 42. Call +44 7435 755127 and a person answers during office hours.
EN1 is Enfield Town and Bush Hill Park; EN2 Enfield Chase, Gordon Hill and Forty Hill, with Forty Hall at its edge; EN3 the Lee Valley towns of Ponders End, Enfield Highway, Enfield Lock and Brimsdown; EN4 the Enfield side of Cockfosters and Hadley Wood, shared with Barnet. The south of the borough uses north London codes: N9 Lower Edmonton and Edmonton Green, N18 Upper Edmonton and Angel Edmonton, N13 Palmers Green, N14 Southgate and Oakwood, N21 Winchmore Hill and Grange Park. The county line matters: customers in Waltham Cross, Cheshunt and Potters Bar shop and search in Enfield, and Enfield customers do the same in reverse, so a service area that stops at the borough boundary is usually wrong.
The business mix follows the three parts of the borough. In the west, Southgate, Palmers Green and Winchmore Hill run on independents: estate agents, dentists, clinics, salons, delicatessens and the restaurants of the Green Lanes strip as it reaches Palmers Green. Enfield Town has the chains in Palace Gardens and along Church Street, plus the professional practices, cafes and venues of a county town. Edmonton has long, dense, price-competitive high streets along Fore Street and around Edmonton Green, with small shops, takeaways, barbers, phone repairers and car-related trades. The Lee Valley estates in Brimsdown, Ponders End and Enfield Lock are trade and business-to-business: builders’ merchants, vehicle repairers, food wholesalers, logistics and light manufacturing, searched for in working hours by other businesses.
What people search for here
5 searches
Five searches we would expect from Enfield customers:
No Enfield business needs to win all five. The free review tells you which kind of search your customers make and what the two nearest competitors’ profiles do better than yours.
Who you are competing with
In Enfield Town, the chains in Palace Gardens hold the brand searches and the shopping centre’s pages take a share of the category searches. In Southgate, Palmers Green and Winchmore Hill, the competition is other independents, and the one with the fuller profile and the more recent reviews usually wins, because deliberate search work is rare here. In Edmonton, the market is dense and price-led, and a profile that states prices and hours plainly outperforms one that does not. In the Lee Valley estates, trade buyers search on a desktop in working hours, and the supplier with a clear page per product line or service wins the enquiry.
When we surveyed the London borough searches on 9 October 2026, we found no agency page written specifically for Enfield at all. We did not query every variant, so treat that as a gap we observed rather than a guarantee of an empty field, but it points to something real: Enfield businesses have been served by generic "North London" pages, and a borough of 333,794 people deserves a page that knows the difference between Hadley Wood and Edmonton Green.
In Enfield
Enfield commutes three ways. The Piccadilly line runs through Arnos Grove, Southgate, Oakwood and Cockfosters; the Overground runs from Enfield Town, Bush Hill Park, Edmonton Green and Silver Street to Liverpool Street; the Great Northern line through Palmers Green, Winchmore Hill, Grange Park, Enfield Chase and Gordon Hill runs to Moorgate. The A10, the A406 and the M25 carry the car traffic, and the Lee Valley estates run on vans. Commuters search near stations in the morning and the evening and type "near me". Residents search at home, in the evening and at weekends, and type the name of their centre. Trade customers search on a desktop between nine and five. Customers from over the Hertfordshire and Essex lines search for Enfield places by name because that is where the nearest shop or practice is. Which population you depend on sets your hours, your photographs, your categories, your service area and your content.

Districts within
No district page yet
None of the twelve district pages on this site is in Enfield, so this page covers the whole borough: Enfield Town, Enfield Chase, Bush Hill Park, Edmonton, Southgate, Palmers Green, Winchmore Hill, Grange Park, Oakwood, Cockfosters, Ponders End, Enfield Lock and Brimsdown. If your business is in Southgate or Edmonton and you would like us to approach your centre specifically, say so in the review request and the reviewer will check the results from there. We add district pages where the search demand justifies one, not by default.
How we approach ranking here
We start with the five searches that matter most to your business and check, from an Enfield location on mobile and desktop, who holds the local pack and the first page for each; results differ between Southgate, Enfield Town and Edmonton. We then work through your Google Business Profile in a fixed order: primary category, services, service area set to your centre and its neighbours over the county line, opening hours, photographs from the last 90 days, and a reply to your last five reviews. We fix the technical faults that stop Google reading the site, build one page per service and one per centre where you genuinely trade, and set up a review process that works within each platform’s rules. The method is written up in full in our guide to ranking in your London borough.
Technical fixes are usually re-crawled within two to eight weeks. Local search changes in an Enfield centre often show within one to three months. Competitive borough-wide terms usually take six to twelve months. These are typical ranges from our own work, not a promise for your site, and we report progress every month.
Local London
A business can be first in Barnet and invisible in Enfield, two miles away. This guide explains why ranking in London is decided borough by borough and often street by street, which place names to build around, how to write area pages that help rather than harm, and how to measure what each borough is sending you.

No published client in Enfield yet. Our nearest published London client is in the next borough west: reels-first social and reputation work for Blac, a restaurant in Whetstone, N20, in Barnet, which holds 4.6 stars across 341 Google reviews and 7.9/10 on TheFork (figures as at 7 Jul 2026). Whetstone is a suburban high street much like Southgate or Winchmore Hill, and the review figures are Blac’s own, earned from its customers; our work was the content and the reply process around them. The two cases shown below this section come from the wider group’s work outside London and are labelled as such: a garage trusted by national organisations but invisible to the drivers next door, which is the position of many Lee Valley businesses, and the one project in which we publish measured search uplift, always as the range and never the top of it. Every case on the case studies page names the figure, the source and the date.
