Social media marketing in London

Reels-first content for London restaurants, venues, colleges and brands: shot, edited and posted by an in-house team on a schedule you can see, with reviews and search planned into the same month so the feed earns bookings and enquiries, not only views.

Who this is for in London

Social media marketing is for a London business that is chosen on a phone, often in seconds, by someone comparing a few photographs and a rating. Restaurants, venues, colleges, gyms, salons and showroom brands all live or die by what the feed shows when a prospective customer looks. The work is to make sure something good is there, consistently, and that it leads somewhere.

  • A restaurant on a dining strip in Barnet or Brixton with plates worth photographing and a feed that does not do them justice. The guest who finds the room on Instagram checks the Google rating next, so the content and the reviews have to agree.
  • A college near King’s Cross explaining accredited courses and career routes to prospective students who scroll before they search. The reel is seen on Tuesday; the name is searched on Wednesday; the website has to match.
  • A heritage venue or charity in Southwark or Tower Hamlets with events every week and nobody to film them. Consistency is the whole game: a published rhythm of real events is what donors, hirers and search engines read as activity.

It is not right for you if the goal is a follower count for its own sake, if you cannot host a shoot or let us photograph the business, or if your customers are procurement teams with a year-long buying cycle, where a content programme for search and LinkedIn will do more than reels. We will say which in the review.

Shoot days at your premises
Our photographers and videographers come to you, by appointment, and shoot the room, the people and the product. No stock imagery.
Reels and short video, edited
Cut for the platform, captioned for sound-off viewing, with hooks tested across the month. You own every file and the raw footage.
Stills, carousels and stories
Designed by our in-house graphic designers in your brand, so the feed looks like one business rather than one template.
Posting in your voice
Captions, hashtags, place tags and posting at the times your audience is active, from accounts that stay in your name.
Community management
Comments and direct messages answered within agreed hours, with anything that needs your judgement escalated to you the same day.
Reviews built into the plan
The same channel that shows the plates reminds happy customers to say so. Review prompts and replies are part of the month, not a separate project.
Monthly report
Reach, saves, shares, profile visits, link clicks and the bookings or enquiries we can trace, with platform insights and GA4 as the sources. Follower counts are a footnote.

Process

How it works

  1. 01

    Review

Your profiles against the two nearest competitors', what your customers search and watch, and what already works in your feed. Part of the free SEO audit when you ask for the social check.

  2. 02

    Plan

Content pillars, cadence, the first shoot schedule and the one or two outcomes we will measure, agreed in writing before the first post.

  3. 03

    Shoot

On site in London, by appointment. One shoot day typically supplies several weeks of reels, stills and stories.

  4. 04

    Post and engage

Content goes out on the agreed schedule, comments and messages are answered, and review prompts go to the customers who had a good time.

  5. 05

    Report and adjust

A written report every month and a review every quarter, with the plan changed when the figures say so.

How we do it

Reels first, because short video is what the platforms distribute and what a London diner, student or member actually watches. Everything is shot on site by people who work here: our videographer and our photographer, with Ihtisham Adalat, Media and Production Manager, running the day. Laiba Jamal and Fatima Raja design the stills and carousels. The channel is run by our social team: Oliver James Whitmore, Head of Social Media Strategy, with Zainab Faisal and Zainab Shehzad as Social Media Managers and Sophie Grace Collins on content and community. All of them are named and pictured on the team page.

Cadence matters more than any single post. The British Muslim Heritage Centre in Manchester is run as a content engine at 30 or more posts, 10 or more reels and 5 or more carousels a month, 45 or more assets in all; that is an output figure, not a results figure, and it shows what a publisher rhythm looks like. For most London businesses the right cadence is smaller, and we agree it in writing rather than promise a number we would have to pad.

Social and search are one system. A reel that fills the room is the same content that earns the next review, and the review is what the next searcher reads. So the month includes review prompts, replies and the photographs and posts on your Google Business Profile, and the people who see the reel and search the name find a website that says the same thing. Blac, a restaurant in Whetstone, London N20, shows the pattern: reels-first social and reputation work for a business that holds 4.6 stars across 341 Google reviews and 7.9 out of 10 on TheFork (the client’s own figures, as at 7 July 2026). Innovate College London shows editorial posts and reels for a London institution on a consistent schedule; no performance figure is published for that client, and we say so.

Local discovery is built in. People search Instagram and TikTok by place as well as by name, so captions carry the neighbourhood, posts are tagged to the location, and the content speaks to the postcodes you actually serve rather than to London as a whole.

The content is planned from search as much as from the feed. Before the first shoot we look at what your customers in London type into Google and into the platforms’ own search: the dishes, the courses, the treatments, the "near me" phrases with a neighbourhood attached. Those searches become content pillars, so a reel about a Sunday roast in Clapham or an evening course in King’s Cross is also an answer to a question people are already asking. The same research feeds the pages on your website, which is why our social and search teams plan the month together rather than in separate meetings.

What changes, and when

Month one is the plan, the first shoot and the first posts on schedule. Over the second and third months the feed starts to look like a business that is open and busy, which is the point: a profile with recent, real content converts the people who were already going to look. Reach and saves move first; profile visits, link clicks and bookings follow as the content accumulates and the review count grows. We do not forecast follower numbers, and we do not buy them.

Where search work is part of the same plan, it moves at its own pace: Technical fixes are usually re-crawled within two to eight weeks. Local search changes often show within one to three months. Competitive London head terms usually take six to twelve months. These are typical ranges from our own work, not a promise for your site, and we report progress every month so you can see which it is.

How it is measured

What we report: reach, saves, shares and profile visits from the platforms’ own insights; link clicks, sessions and the bookings or enquiries that came from social in GA4; calls and direction requests from your Google Business Profile where posts and photographs go there too; and the review count and rating on the platforms your customers use, which belong to you and which anyone can check. Follower growth is listed, but it is the last line, not the first. A written report arrives every month; every quarter we review the plan with you at Tower 42, by appointment, or on video.

What it costs to find out

Start with the free review. The free SEO audit is written by a person and delivered within two working days. Ask for the social check and the reviewer looks at your profiles and the two nearest competitors’ alongside the site: what they post, how often, how they handle comments and reviews, and what a customer sees when they look you up. The fit paragraph says plainly whether social is the right next spend, or whether the website or the reviews need attention first.

If we go ahead, the fee depends on the number of shoot days each month, the volume of reels and stills, the platforms covered and the community-management hours. Prices and inclusions are on the pricing page. There is no minimum term, notice is 30 days from day one, and the accounts, the footage and the files are yours. The before you sign page sets out every term. These terms are proposed and are confirmed in writing before you sign.

Common mistakes we see on London feeds

  • Posting without shooting. Stock photographs of someone else’s kitchen or classroom, which a customer can tell at a glance.
  • A profile with no hours, no address and no booking link, so the person the reel persuaded has nowhere to go.
  • Comments and messages left unanswered for days. A question in the comments is a customer with their card out.
  • An agency that owns the account. When you part, the history and the audience go with them.
  • A feed and a review profile that disagree: beautiful reels, a rating nobody has replied to in a year.
  • Content made for London when the customers come from three postcodes. The neighbourhood is the audience.
  • Chasing every trend regardless of sector, and losing the voice the regulars recognise.
  • Measuring followers and ignoring profile visits, link clicks and bookings, which are what the business is paying for.

How it fits with other services

The best-performing organic content becomes the creative for paid social, where it has already proved it stops a thumb. Reputation work runs in the same month because the review is what the next searcher reads. Photographs and posts go to your Google Business Profile, and local SEO makes sure the name people search after seeing a reel leads to the right page. Where the site itself lets the feed down, web design fixes the landing. One group, one plan, so you are not refereeing between agencies.

On proof: our published social work is reels and editorial content for restaurants, a college, a heritage venue and showroom brands. Where a client’s review figures are shown they are the client’s own, dated and checkable, and where no performance figure is published we say so in those words. See the case studies for each one with its source.

Questions

10 questions

Social media: questions answered

Do you guarantee followers, reach or a viral post?
No. The platforms decide distribution and change the rules without notice, and an agency that promises a follower number is either buying them or guessing. We guarantee the work: the shoots, the content volume, the schedule and the community hours, listed before you sign. The month-one list is credited if we miss an item for a reason within our control.
How often will you post?
As often as the plan says, and the plan is agreed with you in writing. For a venue run as a content engine that can be 45 or more assets a month; for most London businesses it is a smaller, steadier rhythm. Consistency beats volume, and we will not pad a schedule to hit a number.
Who shoots the content, and where?
Our own photographers and videographers, at your premises in London, by appointment. One shoot day usually supplies several weeks of reels, stills and stories. You own the raw footage and every edited file.
Do we have to appear on camera?
No. Owners and staff on camera perform well because people buy from people, but a kitchen, a room, a product or a process carries a reel on its own. We plan around what you are comfortable with.
Which platforms do you manage?
Instagram, TikTok and Facebook for most consumer businesses, LinkedIn where the buyer is a business, and YouTube Shorts where the video volume justifies it. We do not spread a budget across every platform; the plan names the ones that matter for your customers.
Do you reply to comments and direct messages?
Yes, within hours agreed with you, in your voice and using guidelines you approve. Anything sensitive, a complaint or a question only you can answer, is escalated to you the same day. Or you reply and we monitor and prompt; either way nothing is left unanswered.
Does social media help our Google rankings?
Not directly; Google does not use likes or followers as a ranking factor. It helps indirectly: more people search your name, your Business Profile gains fresh photographs and posts, happy customers leave reviews, and content made for social often becomes pages on the site. We plan it as one system for that reason.
Is there a minimum contract?
No minimum term. Thirty days’ written notice at any point, including month one, and no exit fee. Your accounts were never in our name, so there is nothing to hand back except the files, which you already have. These terms are proposed and are confirmed in writing before you sign.
Who actually does the work?
People you can look up: Oliver James Whitmore leads social strategy; Zainab Faisal and Zainab Shehzad manage the channels; Sophie Grace Collins runs content and community; Ihtisham Adalat and our videographer and photographer shoot and produce; Laiba Jamal and Fatima Raja design. Everyone with a full name is on the team page with their role and photograph.
What drives the price?
Shoot days per month, the volume of reels and stills, the number of platforms and the community-management hours. Inclusions and prices are on the pricing page, and nothing is quoted that is not written there.
